With fully online courses, you can progress in your career at a pace that fits your schedule. This AACSB-accredited online MBA program upholds the same quality and credibility as the on-campus Professional MBA degree while providing a format designed to meet your needs.

The University of Georgia’s online MBA program is structured to be completed part-time within 17–23 months. With a standard course load, you should expect to commit approximately 20 hours per week. The program’s fully online and asynchronous structure allows you to earn an MBA from anywhere while maintaining flexibility.

From the first course, you will be prepared to lead. The curriculum and schedule are designed to build your knowledge in business principles, strategy, and leadership while emphasizing both theory and practical application. The online MBA provides an extensive business education that allows you to apply new knowledge directly to your current professional responsibilities.

This online MBA program includes 16 courses divided into eight modules. You will complete 10 required courses and six elective courses, all delivered online in an asynchronous format. Course content is accessible in short 10-to-15 minute segments, allowing you to learn at your own pace. Each module includes live activities and assignments, encouraging interaction with classmates and professors. Depending on your schedule, you can complete the program in 17, 20, or 23 months.

The program is divided into eight 12-week modules with an optional international or domestic residency that offers global or regional business experience. During the first year, you will study essential business concepts that provide a strong foundation. In the second year, you will continue core coursework while beginning elective courses that align with your professional interests. If you choose to focus on a particular area, you will take courses specific to that concentration while fulfilling core requirements.

To help highlight your focus to employers, six optional concentrations are available. The OMBA curriculum consists of 48 credit hours, combining core courses and electives. Electives within these concentrations contribute to the 48-credit graduation requirement. Six optional concentrations are:

  • Finance
  • Accounting
  • Leadership
  • Human Resource Management
  • Innovation/Entrepreneurship
  • Operations Management

These concentrations allow you to specialize in an area that aligns with your career goals or explore a field of interest. However, they are optional and may not suit every student. These focus areas apply only to the OMBA program and will not appear on transcripts or diplomas. You will finalize concentration choices during module five. The electives and concentrations offered may change each year.

Throughout the program, you will strengthen leadership, communication, and technical skills through courses in organizational behavior, leadership, economic analysis, decision-making analytics, accounting, finance, strategic management, and information technology. Additional coursework covers negotiations and business regulations to prepare you for leadership roles.

If you are interested in studying abroad, you can participate in an in-person Domestic or International Residency. The eight-day international residency focuses on international business and provides insight into global markets. Alternatively, the four-day Domestic Residency, held within the United States, allows you to gain exposure to regional business practices.

Application requirements for the Online MBA program include:

  • At least two years of professional work experience after earning a bachelor’s degree.
  • A resume outlining career development.
  • Two professional recommendations submitted online.
  • A personal statement.
  • Transcripts from all degree-granting institutions.
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores (if you do not hold a U.S. degree) unless waived.

Georgia State University

Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The 18-month Executive MBA (EMBA) program at Georgia State University (GSU) provides you with the necessary skills to lead businesses forward while ensuring a strong return on investment. This program is offered by the Robinson College of Business.

For over 40 years, Robinson’s EMBA has maintained a reputation for excellence. It offers a schedule that allows you to balance your education with your professional commitments. Weekend classes combined with in-person interactions and immersive residencies ensure both flexibility and strong connections among students.

You will attend classes every other weekend on Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All classes take place at the GSU Buckhead Campus, located at 3348 Peachtree Road in the center of Buckhead.

This program is designed for professionals with managerial and executive experience. It follows a structured format without elective courses. All students begin together and graduate after 18 months. Subjects are taught in an integrated manner rather than as separate topics. This approach enhances the learning process and makes it easier to form study teams and professional connections.

The EMBA curriculum incorporates multiple focus areas that will help you develop strategies to address business challenges, adapt to changes, and take advantage of new opportunities. As an EMBA student, you will earn a traditional MBA degree. The “E” in EMBA refers to the structure of the program, which is designed for professionals with significant experience.

Each stage of the program builds on the previous one to reinforce three key areas: leadership, innovation, and global operations.

Leadership development and international business skills are embedded throughout the program. The courses cover every area of business in relation to global markets, providing you with the ability to enhance your organization and solve business problems.

  • Before classes begin, you will complete a series of self-assessments, take an online accounting assessment, and attend a full-day accounting refresher course. Following this, you will participate in a three-day Introduction to Executive Management course.
  • During this introductory course, you will meet the teammates who will work with you throughout the 18 months. You will also interact with leadership coaches, analyze your self-assessments, and engage in case-based teamwork.
  • The program concludes with a two-week international business residency.

The Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and the GSU Change Leadership Certificate are included in the EMBA curriculum. To obtain these, you must complete the Leading the Enterprise and Data Analytics courses with a minimum grade of B-. In addition, after finishing your EMBA coursework, you will have the chance to earn two more GSU certificates in Data Analytics and FinTech before graduation.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt: The Six Sigma Green Belt certification is built into the EMBA curriculum for your convenience. Every Robinson EMBA graduate learns, applies, and gains expertise in process improvement tools that form the foundation of Six Sigma, a methodology developed and refined by companies such as Motorola and GE.
  • Change Leadership: Organizations today must frequently adapt their strategy, structure, and culture while often lacking skilled leaders to guide these transitions. The Change Leadership certification is part of the EMBA curriculum and reflects your ability to lead others through these organizational changes.
  • Data Analytics: The business world is currently undergoing major advancements in data analysis tools and techniques. The EMBA curriculum places you alongside graduate students from the MS in Analytics program to work with real datasets from real companies. You will learn statistical and computational methods for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, identifying patterns, predicting trends, and making informed decisions.
  • FinTech: The financial sector is experiencing significant changes due to advancements in technology. To prepare you for these developments, the EMBA program offers an opportunity to participate in the FinTech lab. You will gain insights into machine learning, blockchain, and other technologies that are reshaping financial services, insurance, and real estate, as well as how to apply them strategically.

Upon completing this EMBA program, you will have the ability to connect different areas of business to develop solutions for complex challenges. You will also gain the skills to lead high-performing teams. Additionally, you will be equipped to gather, evaluate, and interpret data to make informed decisions and propose effective solutions.
